On the birth anniversary day of his mentor GV Iyer, G Murthy gave floral tributes and released his third best film awarded 'Shankara Punyakoti - Screenplay' in book format. GV Iyer the barefoot Brahmin, Bhishma of Kannada cinema was frankly analyzed by big directors Bhagwan and Bhargava, big actors Shivaramanna and Rajesh. The veterans not only analyzed the good work of art director turned director G Murthy but also recalled their association with GV Iyer.

The veterans were honored on this occasion. Before that they offered flower petals to the portrait of GV Iyer. The struggle behind 'Shankara Punyakoti' was screened at this event. The screenplay of 'Shankara Punyakoti' release was also special. One fellow carrying load of grass on his head came saying he has been sent by GV Iyer. He was asked to keep the load on the table. The screenplay book was tucked in it.
