After three years of clapping the first take Aaranya Kandam is ready for release. The producer of the film S.P. Charan under whose Capital Film Works banner the film was conceived is all praise for the director of the film, Thiagarajan Kumararaja.
Charan is positive that like the other five directors who were introduced to the industry by his banner, Kumar too will carve a name for himself in the field.
Aarnya Kandam which was screened at the South Asian International film festival held in New York bagged the jury award.
The film comes with an A stamp and the producer opines that it is an adult film. Producer S P Charan is clear about one thing. That his forthcoming venture Aaranya Kaandam is a raw entertainer that is strictly meant for adults. However, according to the producer, the authorities at the Censors regional office were not ready to allow Aaranya Kaandam to hit the screens until 52 cuts were made. But we were not ready for it, he says.
The film comes with an A tag because of unpleasant language the characters use on screen, but were very vital for carrying the film forward.
Charan has also revealed that the delay in releasing the film was due to the excessive pre and post-production schedules. The film is also touted to have a good share of computer generated graphics.
The films team recently met the press to update them about the film. Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, Yasmin Popanna and Sampath Raj play important roles in the film.
Though a tentative date on the release of the film has not been divulged yet, it is expected to see the light of day soon.
The film portrays the primitive instinct of a male still dormant but none the less there, more of man with an animal instinct concept, thereby explaining the title Aaranya Kandam from Ramayanam.
