The producer of the hit Munnabhai series and the mega hit 3 Idiots is furious as somebody has fooled wannabes at a rate of Rs. 40,000 each.
The producer is in a stake of shock as someone has disguised as casting agents of his production house and looted the parents of the wanna be by saying that their kids have been finalized for a role in the forthcoming film Ferrari Ki Sawari.
A close hand reveals that Sharman is playing the lead in the film but the movie also has important role of Sharmans sons.
While Vidhu Vinod Chopra and his office are still casting for the film, fraudsters have been duping innocent parents, pretending to cast for the kid's role.
The matter came into Vidhus notice when some concerned parents wrote to Vinod Chopra on his official website.
An angry Vidhu Vinod Chopra says, There are numerous emails in my personal account as well as the website.
These frauds approached people through various casting websites, congratulating them for having been finalised for a role in Ferrari Ki Sawaari. They asked them to cough up Rs 40,000 and proceed to fill a form.
Vidhu says, I have not spoken to cops here, but my company will look into the legal implications today as the culprits are in Guwahati, not Mumbai. This is a huge scam. Hundreds of people have been duped. I am really frustrated and angry as I don't even know who these people are. But whoever they are, they shall be punished."
