You read it first on IndiaGlitz that director A M R Ramesh of ‘Kuppi’ fame has renamed his forthcoming venture ‘Kavalar Kudiyirupu’ as ‘Kadhalar Kudiyiruppu’. The filmmaker confirmed this while talking to reporters in Chennai recently.

“Since the film talks about love and friendship, some journalist friends of mine suggested that I change the title to ‘Kadhalar Kudiyiruppu’. And I did it with the approval of producer Murali Manohar,” Ramesh said.

Informing that the film is getting ready for an August release, the director said, “It is shot in three different periods- the 1970s, 90s and now. The film is about a Tamil boy living in a police quarters in Bangalore.”

Unlike ‘Kuppi’, which is a raw film, ‘Kadhalar Kudiyiruppu’ will have commercial elements too, Ramesh said and added: “The movie has newcomers Anish Tejeshwar and Shruti playing the lead with Saranya doing an important role.
