She has been a ‘dreamy gal’ (Om Shanti Om), then uptown Meera (Lov Aaj Kal) and later did the daring step of chopping her beautiful long locks for ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’. Now the dimpled beauty Deepika Padukone will sport a completely new avatar for the ace filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker’s forthcoming film ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’.

The tall actress has dropped down her glamour quotient and appears quite simple, as a Bengali girl Kalpana. Playing the character of a revolutionary, Deepika features here in a traditional saree worn in Bengali style. It is reported that her image has been done by noted fashion designer Neeta Lulla.

All is fine and exciting… But only the actress knows what it takes to shoot in the five meters attire. While Deepika has to do lot of action scenes, she felt it very difficult to manage the saree as it often used to come in the way. Sources revealed that every time she took the gun to shoot, or run, the saree would come in the way. It was quite a funny situation and initially some retakes were required. But by the end, Deepika said to have learnt how to handle the saree like a pro.

Releasing on December 3rd 2010, ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ is a period film which revolves around the 1930s Chittagong Uprising. The film is reported to be based on Manini Chatterjee’s book ‘Do And Die’. Deepika is paired opposite Abhishek Bachchan in this one.
