Generations have passed by and Telugu cinema is moving from the ‘Diamond Jubilee’ to the next level. As years have passed by and as jubilees are celebrated, new actors rise and they grow along with the film industry. As change is the only thing that is permanent in this world, the changing face of the industry has seen a new league of heroes lately.

Before we talk about new league of heroes, here’s a disclaimer: The heroes who have been listed here are not necessarily in order.

He made a quiet debut in ‘5va Taareku’ and later got the chance to act with the Megastar in ‘Shankar Dada M.B.B.S’ as a miserable guy who failed in his love. Sharvanand was however noticed for his emotional performance in ‘Vennela’. Here on, he was noticed as an actor with high acting ability. Playing supporting roles for sometime in movies like ‘Sankaranthi’ and ‘Lakshmi’ with Venkatesh, Sharvanand got a break in ‘Amma Cheppindhi’ for his touching performance with senior actress Suhasini.

As for his next break that everyone knows was ‘Gamyam’ by director Krish. Sharvanand meant business and he struck the right chord with the audience. His latest movie, ‘Prasthanam’ by ‘Vennela’ director Deva Katta turned out to be a big hit. Sharvanand’s performance came to good scrutiny and according to trade pundits; he is a saleable star now!

The next in the list is Naga Chaitanya! Born in a clan of actors, Naga Chaitanya with his charming looks has quite a sizeable following already. Two movies old, Chaitanya has managed to offer difference in both his movies. With a level headed character in ‘Josh’ and a loveable guy in ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’, Chaitanya grooves with energy. Still early days in an industry with cut-throat competition, Chaitanya has a long way to walk on the footprints left by his legendary grandfather and living up to the image of his ever young and mesmerizing father who rather looks like his older brother!

Carving a niche for himself with different sections of audience is young and dynamic hero Ram. Ram hails from a cinema background as well but he has always been trying to show himself independent. With trade mark dialogue delivery and energetic dance performances in ‘Devdas’ his first movie, Ram announced his arrival. Complementing his first movie was ‘Jagadam’ that saw him connect with every section of the audience. Later followed a couple of commercial movies like ‘Maska’, ‘Ganesh’ and the recent ‘Rama Rama Krishna Krishna’ where he shows himself as the next happening actor.

In a crop of actors with a rich film background, slowly rising on his own is an actor of a unique variety. The next on list is Krishnudu. Innocent looks, a normal person from the camera’s point of view, Krishnudu has managed to get roles tailor made for him. Having acted in small roles in movies like ‘Happy Days’, etc. Krishnudu got his break in ‘Vinayakudu’. He was noticed as a performer and later continued with the sequel ‘Village lo Vinayakudu’. Krishnudu’s soft spoken dialogues make him sound nonchalant yet serious. Though he has a couple of movies in lead coming up, he asserts that he is open for any type of character, small or big in scope! Substantiating his point, Krishnudu acted in a supporting character in Naga Chaitanya’s ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’. Krishnudu has an excellent future waiting for him!

Talking about ‘Happy Days’ and we get reminded of Varun Sandesh. Launched in a Shekhar Kammula’s movie a couple of years back, Varun is already a dozen movies old. After ‘Happy Days’ he continued with a super hit in the form of ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’. His boy-next-door looks fetched him similar characters but he didn’t want to be typecast. Challenging roles like what he got in ‘Kurradu’ is something he would always beckon. Not all actors would be privileged to act in a remake of a classic like what Varun did. Though the movie received a lukewarm response ‘Maro Charitra’ would always be a feather in Varun’s cap.

In the league of the new heroes, Nani and Tanish find their place as well. ‘Ashta Chamma’ was a super hit movie two years back! It was a clean entertainer and Nani was noticed unassumingly. On the other hand, Tanish, a child actor got his entry as a hero through ‘Nachavule’. His next movie was with Nani in ‘Ride’ that proved to be a hit for both the heroes. Tanish has been consistently getting offers. His ‘Mouna Ragam’ had released recently and is said to be doing brisk business. Nani is eagerly waiting for the launch of his ‘Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu’.

The best of all these stars is yet to come! These are the guys who’re going to rock on till a new breed of heroes emerge. The heroes above will grow to be stars with blockbusters that will come up their way, watch out for the new league of heroes in Tollywood!
