The debutant hero in ‘Yuva’, Karthik Shetty is playing the lead role in a film that is titled in his name. The Kannada film ‘Karthik’ starring Karthik Shetty and beautiful Archana Gupta (of Circus and Lift Kodla Kannada films) went on the floors on Thursday morning at Sri Laksmi Temple behind Seshadripuram College in Bangalore.

To take on Mua Thai martial arts in the film, Karthik has taken training in Singapore and the new stunts he is trying in Kannada cinema was earlier tried out by Vijay Raghavendra in ‘Sri’. There are five extraordinary action scenes in this complete commercial cinema. “The beauty of this film is the screenplay done for the film” says Karthik addressing the media.

Actress Archana Gupta in a romantic love story film says the best part of this film is the screenplay and there are some delectable scenes for her that is new to her in the career.

Satish Shetty, a Mangalorean settled in Mumbai attached to Marathi films and stage has picked this action cum love story after watching Karthik Shetty’s ‘Yuva’. “For usual story I am giving new treatment”, says Satish Shetty. He is shooting in Bangalore, Kerala and Mumbai for the film. Dinesh Gaekwad who is part of films like ‘Shwas’ is the associated with this film.

Keralite John V, who has had small stints in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films, is scoring his first Kannada film music. Manjunath Naik handles the camera while Hrudayashiva writes dialogues and also lyrics. Raj K Purohit is playing bad man on screen. Sunil is in the comedy track.
