The 200th and last film of Dr Vishnuvaradhan ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ released on Friday morning to an outstanding opening. In 75 centers with 300 shows a day ‘Aptha Rakshaka’ received excellent response. In Bangalore city the fans of Dr Vishnuvaradhan with the help of producer Krishna Prajwal erected a 100 feet cut out in ‘King Costume’ of Dr Vishnuvaradhan (he is Vijaya Raja Bahaddur – one of the three characters) at Santosh complex in front of the main theatre Narthaki in the busy Kempe Gowda Road and also at Uma theatre in the in Chamrajpet.

Sixty liters of milk was poured on the cut out of Dr Vishnuvaradhan at the Santosh complex in the presence of jam packed fans. In side the theatre Narthaki when Dr Vishnuvaradhan appeared on the screen as a psychiatrist Vijay as usual one rupee and two rupee coins were thrown at the screen and camphor arathi was conducted. The whole Narthaki theatre had a festive look.

Every scene of Dr Vishnuvaradhan on screen was cheered by the fans. When Vimala Raman (Nagavalli) character shouts at Vijaya Raj Bahaddur character the fans did not like the dialogues and slogans were raied against the character of Nagavalli.

The song Chamundu Thaayi Aaane Naanilli Janisodhe…. (I swear on Goddess Chamundi I will born again in Karnataka) was very emotional and has relevance with the passing away of the super star. The 125 years character of Vijaya Raja Bahaddur that goes in to ashes from the Nagavalli curse also touches the hearts as the actor is no more.

The top class narration of the director P Vasu has been widely appreciated by the fans. The fight scene of 125 years Vijaya Raja Bahaddur and Vijay a psychiatrist is well composed. Director P Vasu has given equal prominence to the characters of Sandhya, Vimala Raman, Lakshmi Gopalswamy and Bhavana.

A day earlier to the release on 19th February three premiere shows were held in Bangalore. One at Inox, another at Rajajeswari Nagar and one more at Renukamba Theatre in Malleswaram 18th cross.

At Renukamba theatre Smt Bharathi Vishnuvaradana, Dr B Saroja Devi, Dr Leelavathi and senior actors of Kannada cinema watched the film. When the film was over by 11.30 pm almost everyone coming out from the preview were seen emotional.

Dr Vishnuvaradhan lives always in the memory was the general opinion. But in the cinema ‘Nagavalli’ he lives again as the snake in the film (graphic effect) goes under the earth.
