It was like a scene straight from a Tamil movie. Sarath Kumar, who was known for hunting down criminals on screen, chased a video pirate at Vysarpadi in Chennai for over a kilometer and handed him over to the police.

Based on a tip off that DVDs of his yet-to-be released ‘Jaggubhai’ are being made in Vysarpadi, Sarath went to the place along with a team of police officials.

“We traced the place where the DVDs were being made. On seeing us, two men writing the DVDs managed to escape on a two wheeler. When I chased them, they abandoned the bike and ran into a lane,” the actor narrates the incident.

He adds: “I didn’t want to leave them. Hence I gave chase and caught one of them and handed him over to the police. My direct action with the help of the police prevented nearly 50,000 copies of ‘Jaggubhai’ DVDs from hitting the market.”
