‘Daatu’ gets award

The Kannada film ‘Daatu’ (Cross Over) directed by K.Shivarudraiah that depict the struggle of a woman (played by Roopa Iyer of ‘Mukhaputa’ fame) has bagged the Best depiction of a woman award in the International Images Film Festival for Women 2008 of Zimbabwe.

Tsitsi Bangerembuga, Director of the festival has sent a letter in this connection via Mr Shankar, Senior Deputy Director, Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India to K.Shivarudraiah, director of ‘Daatu’ Kannada film.

‘Daatu’ based on late Mysore Ashwatha ‘Dharma Konda’ short story with Ramachadnra Ithal cinematography, Hamsalekha music is produced by Dr M Byre Gowda, Roopa Iyer, Sachin Kanabur, Spoorthinath, Venkatesh Prasad, Nakul, Ravindranath Sirivara.

In the cast are Roopa Iyer, Datatreya, Rajesh, Girija Lokesh, Veena Sunder, Venkata Rao, Padma Shimoga, Dhananjaya, Madhavi, Rekha, Shashi, Venkatehs Prasad, Srinath and Master Revanth.
