One of the very few hits of this year so far 'Taj Mahal' Kannada film a re birth for actor Ajay Rao the debut of director R.Chandru and producer Shivashankera Reddy has made more than Rs.10 crore business in the last 120 days according to Gandhinagar sources.
To celebrate the 100 days event with the media director R.Chandru, cameraman K.S.Chandrasekhar, executive producer Ashok Kumar, art director Hosmane Murthy and actor Ajay Rao spoke on the success of the film.
The main producer Shivashanker Reddy was not present because of the ill health of his father. According to director R.Chandru the film 'Taj Mahal' has been sold after two weeks terrific collection on account of sudden recession with biggies coming up in theatres. But nothing has affected and distributors have made plenty of money says Chandru. The proceeds of Telugu and Tamil remake rights given him ample remuneration for Chandru. With the guidance of Music Maestro Ilayaraja he is taking up the Tamil version of 'Taj Mahal' after 'Prem Kahani'.
My life has reached the comfortable stage. I have bought a house in my native place, in Bangalore a car for my father and now working for second film 'Prem Kahani' that is going on the floor on 19th of this month. Music Maestro Ilayaraja is scoring nine tunes for this film and he has given a wonderful advice that I am inculcating in my professional and personal life informed the excited R.Chandru.
The first day of story narration director R.Chandru made a forecast that it would run for 100 minimum recalled executive producer Ashok Kumar. Looking at the whole process of film making Ashok Kumar has also got confidence to act in a cinema. He is now playing lead in 'Bruce Lee' Kannada film in the direction of Krishna Samarth.
Cameraman Chandrasekhar and art director Hosmane Murthy are happy with the progress made by the film. Actor Ajay who came late to the get together thanked his fortunes for new lease of life from 'Taj Mahal'.
