Here is a rare situation in Kannada filmdom. 'Mungaru Male' and 'Dhuniya' not ready to vacate from the theatres because of terrific collection the films that are coming up are finding it tough. 'Mungaru Male' and 'Dhuniya' reaping Rs.30 and 10 crores revenue respectively in the last five months have the major competitors in the box office from 1st of June 2007.

Three big Kannada films are releasing on June 1 all over Karnataka. They are Sunilkumar Desai's 'Kshana Kshana' starring Dr.Vishnuvardhana and Aditya, Sudeep's second directorial venture ' No.73 Shanthinivasa' and Comedy Time Ganesh's 'Hudugata' directed by new comer Sanjay have announced the release date.

Approximately Rs.10 crores investment from three films would have acid test against two vital films doing well already at the box office. The reopening of schools and the monsoon already making entry are the two additional issues that affect the collection.

What is interesting is that Comedy Time Ganesh's 'Mungaru Male' is tremendous at the collection at the 150 day of screening. The release of his 'Hudugaata' is going to have any repercussion for 'Mungaru Male'? The advantage is definitely there for 'Hudugaata' but how much the collection of 'Mungaru Male' would get disturbed is difficult to answer.

Besides this the other two biggies coming up 'Kshana Kshana' – Sunilkumar Desai has huge fan following and he has Dr.Vishnuvardhana, Aditya, Prema, Kiran Rathod, Sri Devika, Kishore, Ashutosh Rana in the cast. Yet another interesting film that has created lot of hype like 'Kshana Kshana' is Sudeep directorial venture for his home production ' No.73 Shanthinivasa'. Sitting pretty with success of 'My Autograph' Sudeep has the big draw like the other two heroes films coming this week. Sudeeep has been careful and clever in his approach this time. He is making a film for the common people and to attract huge opening he has superstars Dr.Vishnuvardhana and Shivarajkumar in the guest role of his 'No.73 Shanthinivasa'.

On the other hand 'Dhuniya' on the verge of 100 days is still doing very good business.
