It is well aware that director K Raghavendra Rao who have two periodical hit films to his credit with Nagarjuna like 'Annamayya' and 'Sri Ramadasu' is now planning a film 'Pandurangadu' with Balakrishna in the lead. It is reliably learnt that Balakrishna is playing dual roles in the film including the Lord Panduranga Swamy and the devotee Pundarika.
While the first half of the film would be romantic and the second half would be total devotional.
JK Bharavi and MM Keeravani, who worked as writer and music director for the earlier two periodicals with Raghavendra Rao have teamed up again with him for this flick.
Another interesting point to note is that Suman, who won critical acclaim for his roles in Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu is also playing a key role in this film. This is the next film to roll for Balakrishna after 'Maharathi'.
It may be mentioned that the late NT Ramarao-starrer 'Panduranga Mahatmyam' was a big hit those days and his son is following the tradition. We have to wait and watch how Raghavendra Rao would mould this story, though he is well known for making romantic as well as devotional flicks with similar ease.
