Not many had expected the biggest success of Raajamanikyam when it was due for release. And not many had predicted the failure of Prajapathi, when it was to grace the theatres with much hype. The results of both these films were most evident in Mammootty, as he changed his tracks of film selection after the arrival of both these films.

In the former case, he decided to stick to soft, humorous roles for quite some time, but with the bad fate of the later he again retaliated by going back to his strengths with tailor cut, emotional stuff.

Prajapathi's result was a great embarrassment, for Siraj who had been making Mammootty films for a while. He had everything going for him in 'Prajapathi', with Mammootty, director Renjith the best technicians working for the film.

So to compensate for the failure, he has requested Mammootty to do another film together soon and Mammootty have agreed. They have planned a subject and will soon start one, most probably with a debutant director by the start of the next year.
