'Chena Thana' girl Ragasiya is all thrilled. For she has found a place in the much talked about movie on rationalist leader Periyar. Directed by Gnanarajasekaran with Sathyaraj playing the title role, the movie is in the news after the State government recently sanctioned an incentive of Rs 95 lakh for its production.
But there is a buzz in the industry there maybe an item number in the movie.
An item number in Periyar? Yes, says Ragasiya. According to the script, Sathyaraj visits a dasi. I play the dasi and I perform an item number.
She says, 'Though I have appeared in several films before, dancing for a song in this particular film has given me great joy. My name will find a place in the history of Tamil cinema now. I thank the director and the whole team for giving me this opportunity.'
