Navya Nair was once thought over to reign Malluwood for long in desi heroine roles, following her success in heroine centric film 'Nanadhanam'. But the ways changed following some of her problems with Industry, and in a short while her project lists became empty.

Then Navya managed to grab some good films in Kollywood and, she is now reasonably busy there.

But even then, She is looking forward to her next Malayalam release 'Kalabham' to give her a big push. The actress said that she is hoping get the momentum in Malluwood with this another heroine-centric film.

Dr N R Harikumar is producing the movie in the Ananthika Pictures banner and Anil of Anil-Babu fame is directing it. Navya has got the luck again to appear in the five songs for the film, which is considered as the last filmi work of late music maestro Raveendran.

With lyrics provided by S Rameshan Nair and Vayalar Sharatchandra Varma and Ananda Kuttan in the camera, the shooting of the film, which also features actors like Jagathy Sreekumar, Manikuttan, Thilakan, Gayathri, Bhavani Mohan, Baburaj, Kalpana and Tamil actor Bala is currently progressing in Northern Kerala.
