The rich and popular folk lyrics of Karnataka have got a beating from scary music for the first time. Thanks to S.A.Rajkumar for not understanding the essence of lyrics and scoring the music very loudly thus spoiling the big hype of the film 'Sevanthi Sevanthi' had created. Instead of roping in music director S.A.Rajkumar director S.Narayan could have retained the already existing music and lyrics of six folk songs.

The case is like a British or American speaking Kannada. A singer like Kunal Ganjawala (he has sung two songs) has just by hearted the songs and not given life to it. The top light music composers in Karnataka have understood each and every word of folk songs and rendered. This is what missing even from Shanker Mahadevan and S.A.Rajkumar in the songs Nodavalandhava…., and Mayadhanta Male Banthananna…

Perhaps this is tough and tongue twisting for all of them. The tolerable is Chitra's Mayadantha Male Banthanna number out of the six songs of 'Sevanthi Sevanthi' film.

The major drawback of this film music is the instruments eating away the lyrics. The justice has not been done by S.A.Rajkumar who is known in Karnataka as melody maker.

The audio album of 'Sevanthi Sevanthi' picking six popular folk songs has not given a small salutation in the beginning for the author of lyrics and first time composer of the songs. The credit for the lyrics is missing even in the inlay card. The folk songs have not fallen from the heaven!

The six popular folk songs are – Bhagyadha Balegaara sung by Kunal Ganjawala and Shreya Goshal, Jaaji…. By Vijaya Raghavendra and Shreya Goshal, Nodavalandhava… by Shanker Mahadevan, Mayadhanta male…. By Chitra, Chellidharu Malligeya…., By S.A.Rajkumar and chorus, Nimbiyabanadha….. by Kunal Ghanjawala and Priya and repeat song of Mayadhanta Male…. by S.A.Rajkumar.

This was not expected from a reputed director S.Narayan. The grandeur in shooting of the songs has to save the grace of the folk songs and of course the producer S.A.Chinne Gowda.
