Here comes a fantasy film from the maker of the gritty underworld thriller "Vaastav". Director Mahesh Manjrekar treads a new path full of fun and frolic with "Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi", which releases Friday.
Manjrekar wrote the script some nine years ago and wanted Amitabh Bachchan to play Sanjay Dutt's character and Dutt for the role now played by Shahid Kapur.
The film has Sanjay Dutt playing a soft-hearted Yamraj, the Hindu god of death, who works on a laptop, wears designer suits, teases girls and bursts into tears on small issues.
Will the audience accept the macho actor in such a soft role?
The film revolves around Aditya Singh (Shahid Kapur) who has the responsibility of the entire family, including his grandmother, sister and his brothers' children. The kids fondly call him Adi chachu and life is a merry-go-round for them especially when his girlfriend Piya (Amrita Rao) is around.
But their lives turn upside down when Adi meets with an accident and dies.
That's when it's time for divine intervention. Yamraj (Sanjay Dutt) transforms Aditya into an invincible force that could defeat all their foes. He gives Adi a chance to come back to his human form and sort out his problems.
In India, very few films are made for children, but producer Sangeetha Ahir has crafted this movie especially for the young ones and promises to take them for a fantasy ride. The film is loaded with special effects.
Shahid Kapur's kid brother Ishan and Mahesh Manjrekar's son Satya also feature in important roles in the film.
