Malayalam heroines making a dent in Kollywood have ensured healthy competition in tinsel town.

Nitya Das and Jyothirmayi are the latest and welcome additions. The former was part of the success team of Kunjikoonan and Ee Parakkum Thalika.

She now plays the heroine in the film titled Manadodu Mazhaikalam, which features Shaam in the lead role. Arpudan is directing the movie.

'It is a campus love story and I wanted a fresh face to play the heroine's role and I was impressed with Nitya Das after seeing a couple of Malayalam movies. Hence I decided to cast her as heroine for the movie', says Arpudan.

Jyothirmayi plays opposite Sathyaraj in Sivalingam IPS which is a remake of Suresh Gopi's Bharathchandran IPS.
