The first film to hit silver screen on January 1, 2016 is a remake of Geethanjali` Telugu horror comedy in Kannada as Kathe Chitrakathe Nirdeshana Puttanna`. It was in 2014 debut director Raj Kiran with Srinivasa Reddy and Anjali made the film.

Kathe Chitrakathe Nirdeshana Puttanna` in Kannada from Dandupalya fame director Srinivasaraju is with some rework on the screenplay to suit the image of Komal Kumar comedy hero and to the image of very talented Priyamni. It is a dual role for Priyamani in this film with rabble rouser Ravishanker. Srinivasaraju director of the film says it is a family entertainer. The protagonist as assistant director in the film struggle to become a director – for cinema direction it is Puttanna` like Taj Mahal is to Love says intelligent director Srinivasaraju addressing media. Srinivasaraju obtained permission from Shivaramanna when he chose the subject. There is no harm to legendary director. I know cinema making and what is required is only used for the film he says.

Priyamani national award winning actress played dual role in Charulatha` as Siamese twin and she is again in double role in this Puttanna`. It is how Komal and team solve her problem in the film with tit for tat. Gururaj M Desai is dialogue writer, Anirudh relative of producer is also in a role. Komal Kumar remembered that the title was earlier Yee Heroine Dandanaka`. We changed it. Now with this title Kathe Chitrakathe, Nirdeshana Puttanna` the controversy is more.
