Siddalingaiah era ends

One of the top ranking directors of yesteryears of Kannada cinema Siddalingaiah died on Thursday afternoon (12th March 2015) due to H1N1 and multiple complaints in his health.

The 79 years legendary director of epoch making films like Bangarada Manushya`, Boothayyana Maga Ayyu` and 21 other successful films Siddalingaiah maintained a quiet life after the death of his
firs son top Tamil actor Murali. He was admitted to Suguna Hospital a fortnight ago. He did not respond to the treatment even with ventilator on Thursday afternoon, the sad demise came from the
hospital doctors.

Started as floor boy in D Shanker Singh films, Siddalingaiah developed the habit of reading and his observations were strong on and off the floors. He was very straightforward and that has earned
a few enemies for him. He was right in his attitudes later earned him the friends.

He began as independent director of Dr Rajakumar and Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana starring Mayor Muthanna in 1969. The debut production of Dwarakish was made in just Rs.69000.

It is Bangarada Manushya set new record in box office as it was screened for two years. It is from this film the educated youths returned to native village to continue agriculture profession. It
was a strong social impact film with elder brother sacrificing everything for the family and walking away.

Boothayyana Maga Ayyu` a film based on Goruru Ramaswamy Iyengar novel was well received and critically acclaimed. The performance of Dr Vishnuvardhana and Lokesh, the estranged families
reuniting on humanity grounds was hall mark of this film.

Balu Belagithu, Namma Samsara, Nyayave Devaru, Doorada Betta, Hemavathi, Boolokadalli Yamaraja, Narada Vijaya, Nari Swargakke Daari, Parajitha, Prema Parva, Ajeya earned good laurels for
Siddaligaiah. It is Ajeya` remake in Tamil Puthir` he directed his popular actor son Murali.

The 1936 born Siddalingaiah leaves behind his young son, eldest son late Murali children and daughter. Grandson Atharva is a rising star in Tamil cinema.
