Now Bollywood classic SHOLAY in a 'Cartoon Series'!

Ramesh Sippy`s much acclaimed cult classic film SHOLAY that boosted an inimitable assembly of stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malani, Jaya Bahaduri and Amjad Khan and holds the credit of being the biggest blockbuster of all time is back yet again - this time in a new avatar of Animated Version that would entertain kids on cartoon network Pogo.
Titled SHOLAY ADVENTURE, The first part of the cartoon movie in the series will be premiered on POGO on January 26, 2015.
According to Sascha Sippy, Chairman of Sholay Media and Entertainment, "SHOLAY is an all time classic and over the years it has entertained four generations. Hence when POGO, Graphic India, discussed the possibility of exploiting the classic movie into a cartoon series I was excited because the film is a milestone and I believe it should be made available to the viewers in every possible way for generations to come."
Sharad Devarajan, Graphic's co-founder and CEO briefing the media about the new look of SHOLAY for small screen said, "SHOLAY remains the quintessential film to define Bollywood cinema. We are thrilled to be working with Sasha Sippy and take these iconic characters into exciting new stories through comics and digital shorts."
He added, "The film and its characters are still popular with the audiences and we are sure they will be immensely popular with the kids too."
The iconic charecters of Amitabh Bachchan (Jai), Dharmendra (Veeru) and Amjad Khan (Gabbar) etc have been created by Graphic India's SVP Creative, Jeevan J Kang and the script for the animated series has been written by acclaimed writer, Alok Sharma.
Readers may recollect that earlier the epic film SHOLAY has been interpreted into a graphic novel. The comic book called Gabbar Singh has hit the stands across all major bookstores in India through Graphic's Indian publishing partner, Westland Tata.
