There was no surprise on the cards over the weekend gone by, what with 'Kick' taking a bumper opening all over and maintain its collections well on each of the three days. Now this is huge indeed considering the Ramadan period when a good segment of population stays away from theaters. In fact this is the reason why it was futile to expect a 100 crore weekend for the film which was releasing on a non-holiday.
In that perspective, the opening weekend of 83 crore has been good enough for the film which is also one of the biggest openers of all times now. In fact not just are the collection simply the best of the year, they have also gone way past Salman Khan's own 'Jai Ho' which had released earlier this year. The film has seen largely good reviews coming from the critics while audience has got what it expected. Word of mouth amongst the audience is one of the better ones for a Salman Khan starrer and that is fabulous news indeed for all involved since a lot is on stake for the film.
Though Monday would see a drop due to it being a working day and also the last day of Ramadan, real records are set for Tuesday which is Eid. While it is a given that over 30 crore would comfortably come in on this day, one waits to see if this turns out to be the biggest ever day for any Hindi film till date. The record is currently held by 'Dhoom 3' which collected 36 crore on its opening day and if 'Kick' goes past that mark, it would be wonderful indeed.
No wonder, this is a huge week indeed for producer turned director Sajid Nadiadwala who would indeed be waiting for collections to remain on a very high side right through the week. If film's content is anything to go by, it is expected to hold on well indeed.
