Trouble for 'Makkalu'

A children Kannada film Makkale Manikya` finds trouble from the distributor and exhibitor. Makkale Manikya` with unique had won the international children film award last year at the 5th BIFFES. Producer Asha Gunashekhar made arrangements for release of the film but the exhibitor showed scant respect for the film despite of paying the week rent for Menaka theatre.
Even after paying weekly rent of Rs.1.50 lakhs, arranging distributor Ajay Chandani of Pal Enterprises, paying the Qube and UFO fees that amount to Rs.1.25 lakhs the investor on this children film Asha Gunashekhar film also traces that in other parts of Karnataka like Hubli, Mysore and other regions the film was not shown in theatres.
The sad part is Menaka theatre in Bangalore. After two days of screening Menaka theatre management closed the theatre. It has sent back the audience by using unhealthy practice that is moronic to Kannada cinema.
With no support from anyone Asha Gunashekhar is demanding return of Rs.1.50 lakh from Menaka theatre and wants to release in other theatre so that a well made film Makkale Manikya` gets right share of importance.
The children film was viewed by over 1000 children on first day. What is the problem for the theatre management when rent for one week is collected in advance asks Smt Asha Gunashekhar.
