It was a very narrow margin defeat for sandalwood queen Ramya alias Divya Spandana in the Lok Sabha Elections results declared on Friday. Ramya Congress I former MP lost to Janata Dal Secular CS Puttaraju from Mandya. The announcement of Ramya LS poll result was last one among 28 seats from Karnataka.
That is because of the narrow margin and there was rumor of recounting.
CS Puttaraju of JDS secured 5,24,370 votes, Ramya of Congress I got 5,18,852 votes while Prof B Shivalingaiah of BJP got third place securing 86993 votes.
With the defeat of Ramya from this MP election in an interview she disclosed that she would pick very few good offers in films.
A day before the elections to LS 2014 were announced win or lose I would work for the people of Mandya district. Apparently Ramya is former MP. In the last by elections to Mandya she defeated the current winning candidate by a margin of 55000 votes.
Several things worked against Ramya in her own party. The non availability of Dr Ambarish for rigorous campaigning, Ambarish fans anger on Ramya, the inside adjustments in the political system of Mandya are said to be the factors for Ramya losing the votes.
