Here is fantastic news straight from the horse mouth – producer of Kannada cinema ‘Maanikya’ – MN Kumar. It is Rs.15 crores from 15 days collections.

MN Kumar is very confident that he would reach to the ‘Zero’ level of his previous loans. Analyzing the first 8 days collections (Maanikya was released on Thursday) he says it has fetched Rs.10 crore in which the share of the producer is Rs.8 crores. It is from 240 theatres. In the second week the collection for producer is over 5 crores from 200 theatres – The rent for theatres and percentage system would take away easily Rs. 4 crores in the two weeks he puts up.

For me the real ‘Maanikya’ is Sudeep. He has kept up the long promise he made to act in my banner. He has also directed the film with all care. I am very comfortable and I give all credit to Sudeep says MN Kumar with wide smile on his face.

In the third week ‘Maanikya’ is in over 150 theatres and share is definitely in crores of rupees he says. MN Kumar is also seeing at least 50 theatres completing 50 days for ‘Maanikya’ the biggest block buster of the recent times.

It is the moral support I got from many after ‘Maanikya’ started made me feel very happy. As of now I am distributing this week release ‘Just Love’ and ‘Jamboo Savari’ is in the pipeline for release.

My intention in life is to make 12 films for 12 months. The strategy would get a final shape soon. In the last 30 plus years as producer, distributor and exhibitor I have believed people and got ditched. For whatever problems I have received ‘Maanikya’ got me the results observes MN Kumar.
