Sidharth and Parineeti enjoy a success with 'Hasee Toh Phasee'

Once weekend collections started showing escalation at the box office, the writing was clear on the wall that 'Hasee Toh Phasee' was a safe outing for all involved. There weren't many doubts that the film would have only marginal drops over the weekdays and this is exactly what happened as the collections were down by only 50%, which is fair.
As a result, this feel good film has managed to bring home over 27 crore from its first week. These are decent collections for a film which has a one film old hero (Sidharth Malhotra) in the lead. One has to admit though that the collections would be curtailed by a good distance due to 'Gunday' arriving this week. In the absence of this Yash Raj Films biggie, Dharma Productions could have expected a good chunk of moolah added to its eventual total. However as things stand today, 'Hasee Toh Phasee' would have a lifetime run of around 35 crore which is more than just average for a film with a fairly offbeat theme.
The one who has emerged as the biggest winner of them all is Parineeti Chopra who now has a 100% record intact ever since she made her debut with 'Ladies v/s Ricky Behl'. With 'Ishaqzaade' and 'Shuddh Desi Romance' being successful as well, she is playing a mid-level game quite well and making inroads into the industry. It would be interesting to see what sort of role she picks up in a Bollywood biggie which is aimed for a larger segment of audience.
Other three releases of the week, 'Heartless', 'Babloo Happy Hai' and 'Ya Rab' aren't much in the running in the second week. Ironic, since each of these had found good reviews to their credit. Perhaps a better spacing at the box office from release date perspective would have helped them earn more moolah.
