Actors are always the flesh and blood of a film, they bring alive the characters on screen and they get the audiences hooked to the film. Dedication and will power are the two elements a good actor needs, but looks like Karthi has taken dedication to a higher level. This devoted actor plays the lead in Ranith’s (Atta Kathi fame) next film. The role he plays in the film requires him to sport a lean and glossy look, so Karthi has not only been hitting the gym nonstop but the dedicated actor has also been on a stern diet in a determination to lose weight. Having done all this, the actor has already shed a few kilos.

Director Ranjith seems impressed; he says “"I wanted Karthi to sport a sleek look for the character he portrays in the film. He plays a young and energetic guy who resides in north Madras, and I wanted him to get into the skin of the role. Just because I requested him, he has been on a strict diet and has been exercising to further tone up his muscles. He has already lost a couple of kilos. The audience will get to see a slim Karthi in my film.”

The cast and crew are now busy shooting for the film. They have already been shooting in Chennai for a couple of weeks now preparations and the shoot are going on in full swing. Earlier the film was titled Kaali but now change of title is in progression.
