Kanakadurga, one of the two women who entered Kerala's Sabarimala temple, got divorced from her husband Krishnanunni following a rift in her relationship after the temple darshan. Reportedly, it was Krishnanunni who sought a divorce from her.

It may be remembered that after her controversial visit to the Sabarimala temple, she had a fight with her mother-in-law who hit on her head leaving her seriously injured. She had registered a case against the family too. Now, after she got divorced, she withdrew the cases against them and started living separately.

Kanakadurga demanded Rs 15 lakhs and a house in order to agree with the divorce, but later she agreed to settle the case for Rs 10 lakhs.
