"Oh, to be Young again!" puns director Arjun Sablok as he watches Bollywood's own Abhishek Bachchan cavort with Thai pop singer Tata Young in a bathtub.
It's a music video being shot in Mumbai's suburb Goregaon that features, besides Abhishek, John Abraham and Uday Chopra.
The video is being shot over a period of four days and will support the action film "Dhoom" that features the three actors.
"But," warns Sablok, "It will have no footage from the film."
"I'm directing an independent video based on the film's theme of rugged adventure. For the first time, we'll have a music video that supports a film without borrowing visuals from it."
The "Dhoom" video is conceptualized as a woman's fantasy and will show Tata Young imagining herself in various poses with the three male stars of the film. Incidentally, John plays the villain in "Dhoom".
Laughs Sablok: "Tata Young, who has sung the English-language song composed by Pritam, has already shot with Uday in a cage, a la Helen in the 'Jaan-e-jaan' song in 'Inteqaam'. And then I made Tata take a mud bath with John. Now it's Abhishek's turn. I'm putting them in a bathtub today. I may even make Abhishek take off his shirt. I'm in a reckless mood."
This isn't the first time that a music video has been devised and executed to support a film. Ram Gopal Varma's "Satya" and "Bhoot" created specially shot music videos to prop up the products. But the "Dhoom" video is the first of its kind in the sense that principal actors of a film have never before shot a separate video.
"Abhishek, John and Uday are so good at it, I wonder why we don't do this more often!" exclaims Sablok.
When released at the beginning of August, the music video promises to set the small screen on fire.
