To mark the birth anniversary of legendary late Yash Chopra, the filmmakers widow Pamela in association with Yash Raj Films (YRF) and Karol Bagh Saree House (KBSH) hosted a gala and starry fashion show. The grand celebratory event, held at YRF studio, launched Indias first Bollywood inspired fashion label called Divani.
Turning out to be visual treat, as well as a colourful tribute to the iconic filmmaker, the show witnessed popular leading ladies from Yashjis films namely Rekha, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Rani Mukherji, Preity Zinta, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and Parineeti Chopra (the only heroine who has not worked with the filmmaker but had been launched by YRF) who graced the ramp in fabulous and rich exclusive ethnic attires. And it was much more interesting to see B-Towns Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan, the only male actor who walked the ramp with nine Bollywood beauties.
Remembering the great film man, SRK recalled some interesting tidbits about Yashji and felt grateful to have worked with such a legend. On a lighter note, King Khan stated that he is really thankful to Yashji for making him look gorgeous.
Also speaking on the occasion were -
Looking bit emotional Rani said - "Miss you a lot (Yashji). And I miss baking a cake on your birthday.
Anushka for did Yash Chopras last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan - "I feel honoured to have got the opportunity to work with such a legend at a very young age."
Madhuri who did Dil Toh Pagal Hai - He was so warm and genuine... He used to say, Bus tu hi meri Maya ho. (The character Madhuri played in the film)
Katrina, who also was on Yash Chopras last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, revealed that the director used to speak mostly in Punjabi and so often used to ask her whether she understands anything. "He was oldest friend yet youngest at heart."
