The evening rocked as liquor baron Vijay Mallya hosted a grand bash for his film "Rakht", complete with live performances and a huge star turnout.
The show Tuesday evening started with Pakistani band Aaroh and their rock track that is included in the soundtrack of this film. The music is certainly different and should appeal to the urban youth.
Aaroh was followed by Shaan singing "One Love" with panache. Surely he must try his magical voice with some Rhythm and Blues stuff.
Then came hot babe Yana Gupta. Interestingly, all the TV channels and photographers were barred from taking any pictures of the live gig. Suddenly, there was an announcement saying still photography was allowed but not video shooting.
Yana performed on her track "Oh! What a Babe," her second item appearance after the super hit song "Babuji".
The highlight of the event was the music video of Blue featuring none other than Abhishek Bachchan.
Abhishek, who did not make it for the party, has a special guest appearance in the film, playing Bipasha Basu's boyfriend. He has just about two prominent scenes besides the "One Love" track, which essentially promotes Singapore Tourism.
Except for Suniel Shetty, everyone from the star cast was present at the launch. Bipasha came with her equally good-looking mom and sister.
Bipasha's former boyfriend Dino Moreo, who also stars in the film, was seated at another table but they did meet each other.
With Mallya around, you can surely expect some glam dolls.
"Rakht" has plenty of them in the film. There is Amrita Arora who sizzles in a bikini in a sensuous number along with Sanjay Dutt and there is Bipasha and Neha Dhupia. Of the three, Bipasha looked the hottest, wearing as she was a transparent white sari.
Katrina too came for the party and posed with Yana Gupta.
"Rakht" is a multi-starrer with an intriguing story line.
It delves into the realms of ESP and psychic reading against a contemporary and fast-paced backdrop. The narrative style is riveting and deliberate, with a sense of foreboding and uneasiness pervading the film - never allowing the viewer to sit back and relax.
The main protagonist Bipasha Basu can "see" things, places, events and moments that others cannot.
She uses this gift to make a living and one of her clients leads her to a bizarre murder mystery, creating a dilemma that threatens her very existence.
The film, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, is slated for a July release.
