After successfully playing supporting roles in ‘Action Replyy’ and ‘Guzaarish’, VJ turned actor Aditya Roy Kapoor is coming with his first solo film ‘Aashiqui 2’ opposite lovely Shraddha kapoor.

Post his earlier two movies the handsome is coming on screen after a brief gap. Now with two films in hand - ‘Aashiqui 2’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani’, Aditya is glad that he took time to select projects. Talking about it, Aditya stated, "It has been a while. I wasn't looking for solo leads. I was looking for something which excites me. I did not find anything which I was happy about. Films have come and gone. But I don't regret it at all. I didn't want to do them because I didn't believe in them. Till I offered Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani and then Aashiqui 2 came my way."

Adding further he says that the responsibility is for everyone. Differentiating between playing side roles and as a lead hero, Aditya said, "I cannot shy away from the fact that it is a litmus and acid test for me. It was a daunting thing as I had not done it before.

When you are with other stars, the responsibility is not on our shoulders. Here I got a feel on this on the first day when I was lip syncing a song. I was like this is happening; they are all here for me. Every young actor wants this feeling. Nothing to be scared off, but you does doubt yourself."

About the ‘Aashiqui 2’, Aditya said, "Aashiqui was a huge and a cult film. I guess you will be killing yourself if you worry about these things. Bhatt saab and mukesh sir are aware that if you put a pressure on someone, you can't get the best out of them. Plus I don't think you can every remake a classic. They had faith in us. We knew that we had to give our honest best to it."

Whether Aditya will pass or not this litmus test will be decided by the audience. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film is slated to release on 26th April.
