Not in a mood to forgive and forget, veteran Manoj Kumar has renewed his fight against ‘Om Shanti Om’ makers for making him a target of spoof...

Way back in 2007 when ‘Om Shanti Om’ was released, audience enjoyed the romantic comedy which was a satire on Hindi cinema of eighties. However Manoj Kumar was not impressed the way he was mimicked in the film.

Showing his objection to the scene, he had filed a defamation suit against the film’s hero and producer Shah Rukh Khan and director Farah Khan. However later he withdrew the case after Shah Rukh personally met and apologised to him. SRK had then assured that particular scene would be deleted, even in the prints that will be put on television.

However, recently when the film was released in Japan, Manoj Kumar was informed that the scene still exists. This made the legendary actor to open old wounds and take fresh action against the film makers. Today, he went ahead to file a criminal case against them in a court of Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate through his lawyer Ashok Sarogi.

Kumar sought registration of FIR against the duo for alleged offences such as criminal breach of trust, cheating, defamation and conspiracy. He also sought damages to the tune of Rs.100 crore for releasing the film in Japan without removing the scenes which makes spoof out of him.

On behalf of Manoj Kumar, Sarogi in a written complaint stated, "The complainant (Kumar) had been made to believe that the scene was deleted from the film. However, it was not deleted and accused (Khan and Farah) have made an attempt to gain cheap popularity and business for the film and made money out of it."

Requesting a proper probe into the case, Kumar has sought a thorough police investigation citing that the original negatives and electronic master prints are with the accused.

Adjourning the case till weekend, the magistrate today directed that a copy of the film, containing the allegedly objectionable scene, be produced in the court.
