Sara Loren is finally set to make her Bollywood debut with Vishesh Bhatt’s debut directorial venture ‘Murder 3’. The Pakistan actress had earlier debuted as Mona Lisa opposite Himesh Reshammiya in Pooja Bhatt’s directorial venture ‘Kajraare’. Unfortunately, she couldn't grab many eyeballs as the film released only in one theatre on a single show. Now Mona Lisa has changed her name to Sara Loren and is excited with her debut venture. She speaks about her life and her bigger debut in Bollywood.

What made you take up Murder 3?

It’s a hit franchise and a triangle love story. I have a fantastic role in the film and am looking forward to it. I have worked with the Bhatts in Kajraare and it has been a pleasant experience. Unfortunately the film didn’t do well. But Murder 3 is a bigger franchise so there are a lot of expectations.

Your made your debut with Kajraare and you were called Mona Lisa. What made you change your name to Sara Loren now?

I was told by my numerologist that my name Mona Lisa will not help me in my career. I am Mona in my passport it’s an Arabic name. But since I get success with that name he asked me to change my name. This name was striking and I hope it will help me.

The film didn’t release well were you disappointed?

Yes I was but then I heard that if your film doesn’t release in the South it’s a lucky sign. Maybe I was destined to debut with a Bhatt film again and so here I am. I have been lucky to get their next film. They are like family to me now.

What is your role in ‘Murder 3’ all about?

I play Nisha a confident girl who falls in love with Vikram (played by Randeep Hooda). There are some strange happenings in her life and she is afraid. Director Vishesh was a big help and I followed him to a T. Randeep also supported me a lot and he is a senior so he brought in a lot of comfort level.

How did films happen to you?

I had no plans to come to Mumbai. But once I came here I loved the life here. People are so free and there are so many cultures people go to masjid and mandir. That’s the beauty of this film. I heard that the Bhatt’s were planning to cast a new girl in their film and Pooja was going to direct it. I was into modelling, at that time Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh knew me well as we had worked together. He sent my pictures to them. They liked it and called me up. My journey in Bollywood started with that film. However they had release issues and it could not be released in a big way. But everybody who has seen the film liked me on screen.

Are you comfortable in India now?

I love it here as I said people are very broadminded here. I have my lineage in India. My father is a Rana from Rajput and my mother a Pakistani from Lahore. It was a cross border marriage. My father expired in the 70s and we had to shift to Pakistan to my mother’s maternal family. I was born and brought up in Kuwait but after my father’s death we shifted to Pakistan. We lived there for 7 to 8 years. My responsibility doubled after his death as my siblings were young. I did theater and modelling and worked in television to run my family. But there’s nothing like Bollywood, everyone wants to come here. Otherwise I am person full of life and naughty.

How was the experience of working with Pooja Bhatt?

It was good but I troubled Pooja a lot then. She made me work very hard as I was very immature. I learnt a lot from here as well as Himesh Reshammiya who was my hero in the film. The entire experience was exciting. The film was shot on beautiful locales of Petra and Morocco for the first time.

Are you single now?

Yes I am there’s no one in my life. I have been traveling a lot. I am a resident of Dubai and am very focused on my career now. I have no time for love. I have had my share of crushes and break up’s but nothing serious as of now, it’s a part of love. I have a family to look after as I am the eldest and have to stay focused on my work. There is no time for frivolousness.

Murder 3 is a film about relationships. There’s a lot of boldness and sensuality in the film. Since you are from Pakistan didn’t it bother you? What if people protest to it?

It’s a triangle love story. Everyone has performed individually well. The story is such that it needed boldness and sensuality. I have been brought up in a different way in the Middle East and have been in London for some time. Today’s generation is bold. Film making according to me is a serious business and women are working as professionals and assistants. Boldness in films does not bother me as long as the role is believable. Comfort level has to be there it is very important. When you believe and start living your character it becomes easy. I think boldness and sensuality are in. The generation expects such scenes in the film nowadays. The title is Murder 3 so there has to be some sensuality in the film so that it doesn’t bore you. I am in a towel half the time in the film. Bhatt shoot such scenes were tastefully and aesthetically.

How was your camaraderie with Aditi Rao Hydari?

It was nice. We didn’t meet much as we didn’t have scenes. There were reports that we were not getting along well but that’s not true. We had lunch together on the shoots. Once I gave my plate to her. But he is my hero so I will look at him in a different way maybe that’s why this news came out. After all he is my hero. There was this naughtiness during the shoots.

Now that you are here will you stop doing films in Pakistan?

At the end of the day I am an actor and I don’t want to demarcate myself to any borders. I will work wherever I am asked to work. I want to do different types of roles and with different directors.

What next are you doing any Pakistani films?

I am doing a film titled Anjuman. Sunidhi has sung two songs for the film. It’s a typical Pakistani film. I am playing Anjuman in the film, but I have changed a few things in the film. I have tried to go a little bold and kept my back open in the film. It’s good to be sensuous. You need excitement in life and films. The film is all set for a March release.

What next after Murder 3?

I have signed a three film deal with the Bhatts.
