He made the term Gandhigiri; next he is going to make news with Policegiri...
We are talking about the forthcoming movie of B-towns Munnabhai star Sanjay Dutt. For some time buzz had been in tinsel town about the remake of Tamil hit film Saamy, to be directed by K S Ravikumar and produced by TP Aggarwal in Hindi.
While speculations were rife that the remake will be titled Thaanedar Returns, of late the project has finalised the name Policegiri instead.
According to sources, the makers and Dutt felt that audience might connect the film to the sequel of the nineties Thaanedar. So they decided to give entirely a new title and upon Dutts suggestion they finalised Policegiri.
"Dutt felt that this title could really connect with the audience as 'giri' represents the common Hindi speaking individual's lingo," stated Aggarwal in an interview.
Policegiri features Prachi Desai opposite Sanjay who plays a rough-tough cop, with a blend of both good and bad qualities. Released in 2003, the Tamil film Saamy starred Vikram (Raavan and David fame) and Khatta Meeta fame Trisha.
