Shooting of 'Ek Thi Daayan' is almost through and the film's only male lead, Emraan Hashmi, can of course be expected to be really happy in the presence of as many as three women in his screen life - Konkona Sen Sharma, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi - who are coming together in 'Ek Thi Daayan'.
Really, one doesn't see him being too upset about one or all the leading ladies playing a 'daayan' as he is the sole man in the middle of it all, isn't it?
Smiles Emraan, "Yes, there are three women in 'Ek Thi Daayan' but then the film is in an altogether different space again. There is a supernatural angle to it but the film is a completely different when compared to other horror films, say my own 'Raaz 3'. It is a very interesting script and we are aiming for an April release."
While there is a newness factor expected in the film, there was also an old film of his, 'Rush', which came and went without making any noise whatsoever.
"Well, as I have stated earlier as well, the very fact that it released and saw the light of the day was worth more than any other film of mine doing a 100 crore business", says Emraan, "I had to stick to the film since it was director Shamim Desai's dying wish; he wanted his film to release. I understand that in one's career there may be highs and lulls.
However certain decisions are taken keeping emotions and sentiments in mind instead of commercial gains.
I did my job of ensuring a good release for it and I am happy that it saw good visibility till its release. I am sure Shamim, wherever he is, would be happy."
For sure Emraan, that's the 'spirit', and certainly not the kind that is expected to be seen in 'Ek Thi Daayan'!
