Believe b-town professionals to go at length to add nuances and perfection tom their character. RaveenaTandon is another example of passion and commitment.
The fine talent who has made her mark as an actress with Shool, Satta, Aks, Daman etc and managed her profile as the most wanted during her times with blockbusters like Phattar ke Phool, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,Mohra, Dilwale, Andaz Apna Apna, Khiladiyon ka Khiladi etc.
The national award winner is all set to take a bigger challenge in Shobhana 7 Nights, directed by Sudipto Chattopadhay, who directed the controversial film PANKH.
Raveena plays a character of a Cougar Woman, 40 year old bitchy socialite columnist and author Shobhana, who gets into an intense relationship with a struggling actor in bollywood, played by charming new comer Amit Purohit, who turns to prostitution, to survive his journey into Bollywood.
When director Sudipto narrated to Raveena on how high society socialites in Mumbai picked up toy boys hunks from coffee shops for their sexual fantasies, she refused to believe it.
She wanted to see it happen first hand, so that she could pick up the nuances. The director offered to take her to this particular coffee shop, but being a star, it would have been difficult. And so Raveena decided to wear a burkha and sat at the coffee shop to get first hand view. Its only when Raveena witnessed the whole scenario playing out in front of her that she believed the film maker. Says Sudipto ".
Raveenas character Shobhana 7 nights bears a close resemblance to some of the high society authors and columnist in Mumbai and is bold and sensual, sure to raise eyebrows! When I narrated to Raveena about the Toy boys and struggling male escorts in Bollywood, she did not believe me that it really happened.
Though she was curious and so we decided to go to this particular coffee shop. Raveena who wore a burkha, was stunned by everything that was playing out in front of her" He adds "We even walked by closer so that we could hear the conversation and realised that they were negotiating the money and the hotel room.
In fact Raveena being the professional she is, picked up the nuances and used it in the film. No doubt she is the winner of the National award, and I am confident that it is a never seen Raveena in Shobhana 7 nights.
She will win a 2nd National award for this film for sure...
