She was popularly referred as Sonia Gandhi when this film made it to the screen.
This film also brought her performance critical acclaim, proving that she is more than just beauty queen. Now yet again the London gori will don the same role for the second part of the film as well.
Of late speculations were rife that Prakash Jha who has planned to make ÂRaajneeti 2Â, has approached Katrina Kaif to continue her character from the original story in the sequel.
Now that the news has been confirmed, the actress is happy and excited to be part of the project again.
ÂRaajneeti which released in 2010 starred Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai, Arjun Rampal, Naseeruddin Shah, Nana Patekar and foreigner Sarah Thompson.
The characters of Ajay, Arjun, Manoj and Naseeruddin had died in the original, so apparently they wouldnÂt be part of the sequel.
While Nana might be retained in ÂRaajneeti 2Â, Ranbir will not be included since he is busy with other work commitments.
Talking about doing ÂRaajneeti 2Â, Katrina told to sources that she is very glad that Jha offered the film and she is happy to be on board again. She said she liked the storyline of the sequel and she found it to be amazing.
"When he told me about Raajneeti 2, I thought it was a genius idea.
The script that he has is very interesting. I think it's going to be a big challenge because all the characters have died. To create a cast that wonderful again will be a huge task.
But the concept that he has is fantastic," quoted Kat in an interview to sources.
The actress hopes that the director is successful in putting all things together.
In ÂRaajneeti 2Â, Katrina is said to be the protagonist, with the filmÂs story revolving around her, her rise and fall in the game of politics.
Currently Jha is busy with ÂChakravyuh and ÂSatyagrah after which he will take up the sequel of ÂRaajneetiÂ.
