Yes, yes, you read it right, folks! Of late talks in the town is that the blockbuster hero Salman Khan and hottie Shilpa Shetty might soon be donning the mythological characters from Ramayana - Hanuman and Sita - for an international version of the great Indian epic.

Buzz is that there is a Hollywood project which is coming up, that will like a modern-day adaptation of Ramayana to be produced by Indian-origin producer Uru Patel.

Heard that, stars like Keeanu Reeves and Gary Oldman will be playing the roles of Ram and Ravana respectively while the film will be shot against the backdrop of New York.

And it is for this venture speculations are rife that Salman and Shilpa are being considered for Hanuman and Sita’s roles. So if all goes as said, then one can look forward to see our hot actors on international screens as well...

Incidentally, sources revealed that in fact Aamir Khan was earlier approached for Hanuman’s character; however, things didn’t seem to worked.

Instead, the producer circled on his next choice, that is, Salman Khan.

We have already seen modern version of Ramayana with Mani Ratnam’s ‘Raavan’.

Next we also saw alleged adaptation of Mahabharata with Prakash Jha’s ‘Raajneeti’. Now, let’s wait for the international version of Ramayana and keep our fingers crossed for our Salman and Shilpa...
