If latest developments are any indication, 'Joker' and 'Khiladi 786' would be Akshay Kumar's last humorous outings in months to come.

Even though both these films would have a fair bit of drama and action in them, primarily they are being sold as light hearted affairs. However, Akshay's subsequent films in 2013 would have action and drama at the core of it all.

"'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2' would be a no-nonsense affair for Akshay and Milan Luthria would obviously bring on the required drama since Akshay plays Dawood Ibrahim in the film.

Then in 'Special Chabbis' he plays a conman who forms a fake police team. In 'Thuppakki' remake he would be playing an encounter specialist.

Director A. R. Murugadoss has an eye for action, as seen in 'Ghajini', and he would make sure that Akshay goes through the grill", informs our source.

For someone who anyways does three-four films a year, it would be interesting to see whether he continues with the 'action packed' path or decides a new course for himself.
