As Tips Industries Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya gears up today for its release. Industry circuits are having heated discussion whether the just-married couple will be able to make it at the B.O. given the fact that Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia DSouza who made their debut together in the 2003 with Tujhe Meri Kasam which did phenomenal business in single screen centers in Maharashtra.
Confirms a trade source, The film released in 2003 but was screened and continued to do business till the year 2011 in Kolhapur, Nashik and Pune. In 2008 Kolhapur screen owners ran the film with 4 shows in a day (550 seaters) and each show was houseful. Enter 2009, the year where the tiff between multiplex owners and producers took place Tujhe Meri Kasam still opened to crowds.
It then went on to have a good 6 week run during the IPL in 2010 and was re-released in 2011 (29th April 2011 to 30th June 2011) and was welcomed with 9 weeks of business.
After following that up with Masti in 2004, the now husband and wife team are looking to spread a little romance and a whole lot of laughter with Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya directed by Mandeep Kumar.
Says producer Kumar Taurani, Im sure that Tere Naal is a special film Riteish-Genelia. They shot for the film before marriage and it will release post marriage.
The plot takes in the ups and downs of two people hailing from seemingly different worlds as they look to escape their everyday lives and discover that ultimately love conquers all.
Says Genelia, We started off together as newcomers, but now we are further along in the industry and have grown as actors.
Adds Riteish, We started our career together with Tujhe Meri Kasam. And it was interesting to be working together again after eight-years since we discovered each other as actors again. This film is extremely special to us and I hope its as special for everyone else.
