'Ready' is en route to be a blockbuster with the film netting close to 90 crores in 10 days flat. With over 110 crores already on the cards and the film all set to be amongst the top five money spinners of all times (with other slots occupied by '3 Idiots', 'Dabangg', 'Ghajini' and 'Golmaal 3'), it has also come as a shot in the arm for director Anees Bazmee who desperately wanted a hit after 'Singh Is Kinng'.
"Of course I am gladdened with the way 'Ready' has performed. It didn't just open huge but has also sustained on the weekdays and also the second weekend. This goes on to prove that there is no bigger strength than the written word. The content of 'Ready' has proven to be the King. It's the story which has worked," says Bazmee who is now on a mini break of sorts after living the stressful times of finishing 'No Problem', 'Thank You' and 'Ready' in quick succession.
Agreeing to the fact that law of averages did catch up with him with 'No Problem' not doing well and 'Thank You' just covering it's costs, Bazmee raises an interesting observation. "I don't want to sound immodest as I know I am very small in comparison to these legendary directors. But then didn't Mehboob Khan and Raj Kapoor deliver flops as well? They were known for making commercial mass entertainers but they too failed occasionally. The best of them have. What still made them big is the fact that they made more hits than flops and always kept audience before anyone else. I too wish to follow the same path even if that results in a flop or two."
