Late last week the makers of 'Ishqiya' threw an impromptu party to celebrate the winning of four national awards. While every prominent member from the cast and crew attended the party that went till late night, Naseruddin Shah was conspicuous by his absence.

“The moment awards were declared, Vishal Bhardwaj decided to celebrate the success at a spacious hall located right over 'Mainland China' in Mumbai. Everyone who was invited turned up for the event but Naseer Saab wasn’t there,” informed a crew member.

No one knows why he couldn’t turn up for the event but there weren’t any surprises either. Reason being that Naseruddin Shah is known to be a tad reclusive when it comes to such parties and celebrations. Also, since this wasn’t a planned event, no one is treating his absence with an eye of suspicion.

When contacted, Naseer’s partner in the film, Arshad Warsi, sounded elated at his film winning four National awards.

“None of us wanted to wait for even a day to celebrate. The idea was to make merry at that very moment. It was wonderful to catch up with everyone in the same room all over again though I missed my 'Khalujaan' (name of the character played by Naseer in 'Ishqiya',” he says.

The ones who partied for the longest duration were Vidya Balan, Vishal Bhardwaj, his wife Rekha, Abhishek Chaubey and Deepak Dobriyal. Guess Naseer would get his turn to party along when 'Ishqiya 2' is launched, something which is expected anytime in coming week.
