Anil Kapoor – The Lalitha Kala Samrat

The distinct star of Bollywood Anil Kapoor was recently honoured by Tollywood.

The actor was honoured with the title of Lalitha Kala Samrat at an event held in Hyderabad for his contribution to cinema. The ceremony was a part of the second mega cultural festival of T Subbarami Reddy Lalitha Kala Parishat.

The event was graced by Union Minister for Rural Development Vilas Rao Deshmukh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who also felicitated Anil with a shawl, memento, citation and Veena before presenting him the award.

As a matter of fact, Anil had featured as a hero in a Telugu film several years ago. And recollecting the experience, the ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ fame actor stated that he still felt attached to Telugu Cinema and was quite thrilled on bagging the honour.

During the course of the ceremony veteran actress and Rajya Sabha MP Hema Malini gave a dance performance, paying obeisance to Goddess Durga while noted singers S P Balasubramaniam and Chitra presented musical entertainments.
