The cast of 'Race 2' has been revealed and none of the three leading ladies from the original, whether Katrina Kaif, Bipasha Basu or Sameera Reddy, feature in this sequel. This has in fact surprised a few, especially those who felt that Sameera being the only neutral character in a story made of all-gray characters could have been retained.

"Yes, she was an eye candy in 'Race' but to play a dumb bimbo was something which was the requirement of the film," says a close associate, "If Katrina and Bipasha had far more serious roles, Sameera was the comic relief. In fact she was the only neutral character and could possibly have been retained in the sequel."

However, given the fact that Anil Kapoor's character (that of a detective cop) has stayed on, isn't Sameera missing out on all the action? After all she was his partner in the film and if he can stay, so can she, isn't it?

Though a little reluctant to open up, Sameera says, "See, in our industry, heroes are the ones who have a say and directors are the ones who make choices. There is no point for a leading lady to interfere. We are where we are. If makers have gone ahead and put together a cast that works for them, it's okay."

Guess Sameera has no qualms in admitting the real truth here and has quietly moved out of the 'race'!
