Ex-Miss Sri Lanka Jacqueline Fernandes who is anyways making waves for her no holds bar act in 'Murder 2' has now moved further up in the ladder. She has been signed by Sajid Nadiadwala for 'Housefull 2' which would be directed by Sajid Khan.
One of the many reasons that the director cites for Jackie (as she is fondly called) to find a place in the film is the promise that she shows to be 'the next Katrina'. Sajid Khan doesn't mince any words when he says, "I am sure she is one new face to watch out for. If you ask me, she is the next Katrina in the making."
In 'Housefull 2', Jackie is paired opposite John Abraham, another new entrant in the franchise which is being nurtured. Though there were murmurs around her being cast opposite Riteish Deshmukh, this is not the case, as confirmed by Sajid. "Yes, she is opposite John in the film", says Sajid who is currently shaping up the film's script.
Jackie made her debut in 'Aladin' (2009) which didn't do well at the box office. Her subsequent 'Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai' (2010) failed at the box office too. However she was noticed most for her song and dance appearance in 'Housefull' where she impressed mass as well as class audience with her move. Incidentally each of the three outings so far had Riteish Deshmukh as a common element.
"She has the fire and knows how to deliver the goods. I could see that in the song 'Dhanno' where she was tremendous," gushes Sajid, "It was just apt that she finds a full fledged role for herself in the next in the series of 'Housefull'."
While Akshay Kumar continues to be a regular in the film, Asin is another new face that would be seen opposite him. Also, an added attraction is the coming together of Randhir Kapoor (who was also in 'Housefull') along with Rishi Kapoor. "And not to forget Chunkey Pandey who was loved by one and all in 'Housefull'", gushes Sajid.
'Housefull 2' goes on floors this June.
