There is some reason to rejoice for Bollywood with 'Band Baaja Baaraat' turning out to be a success at the box office. Not just the film is a commercial winner; it has also been one of those rare films that has been universally liked by one and all who has seen it. All of this meant that the film had consistent collections day after day, hence ensuring practically zero drop in collections even as the week progressed. With close to 10 crores coming in the first week, this small medium budget film with limited release is now semi-hit at the least.

Talking about biggies, 'No Problem' has turned out to be a disappointment at the box office. Big star-cast coupled with popular music and some good promotion meant that 'No Problem' did manage an average opening. However, the cracks were visible over the weekend with the eventual picture being clear on the wall as the first week came to an end. The film netted a mere 22 crores and with hardly impressive word of mouth, there is a rapid decline in collections. The second weekend too didn't open on a good note with 'Band Baaja Baaraat' being the chosen one for the audience.

Given it's reasonable cost and good moolah coming from satellite and home video rights (due to the film being a family affair), the film won't be an out and out flop. Yes, there may be losses but that would be minimal with good chances of eventual recovery taking place in a longer run. However, from audience and industry perception perspective, the film is a failure for the entire team of 'No Problem' as well as director Anees Bazmee who has now seen his first commercial failure since 'No Entry' which released five years ago.
