'Guzaarish' hopes to build on a sedate start

'Guzaarish' releases this Friday and with a lack of tremendous interest being built amongst the audience, a bumper start for the film is ruled out. In fact it is quite apparent by now that the 30 crore opening weekend that Hrithik's last release 'Kites' enjoyed would be hardly challenged. Ideally a film of this scale warrants at least a 70%-80% but the makers should be happy if 'Guzaarish' opens and sustains anything over 50%.
Thankfully for the film, there is no competition from the other releases of the film. Dubbed version of 'Spanish Beauty' would be releasing at select theaters across the country with the USP being Barbara Mori who was ironically the leading lady of Hrithik in 'Kites'. The film doesn't stand much chance at the box office.
Same holds good for the delayed product 'Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu' which is a non-starcast affair with bare minimal promotion not quite helping its cause. One wonders whether it would even manage an all-India theatrical release for itself. Ditto for a lesser known film called 'Deewangi Ne Hadh Kar Di'.
Meanwhile, 'Golmaal 3' can well be expected to extend its lead and come closer to the 100 mark.
