Composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy Tuesday launched an iPhone application in their name to reach out to their fans, thus becoming the first to do so.
The trio renowned for their fabulous music scores of movies like Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho, Wake Up Sid, Taare Zameen Par, Rock On and Housefull, have now become the 1st Indian music composer group to have a customized application on the iPhone, enabling fans all over the world to stay updated with the latest from the band.
The application will also allow access to exclusive content, backstage videos and music from the talented musicians. And if this was not enough, it will also help fans across borders to come together and be a part of the exclusive Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy community!
This exciting tool is not only available to all iPhone users across the globe; but is also compatible with the iPod touch and the iPad.
It's time to be knowledgeable about the trends and see a little bit of the future. We are always in awe of iPhone and iPad applications, so we thought why not we have our own applications? It's a first of its kind in our country and I am sure once people will start downloading the application, they will love it, Shankar told reporters yesterday at a press meet at Novotel Hotel.
Loy said: It's like a paradigm shift. Like Shankar rightfully said we are really very young country, we really need to accelerate and we are happy to be the part of the whole process. Lots of people are pretty curious to know how music is composed, so may be we would upload small clips showing us working inside the studio with various artistes. People love to know what's happening behind the scenes.
Apart from sharing news and videos and giving a rare insight to how music is composed, the trio might seek people's views on their new compositions before finalising it for any future project through the application.
Asked if there is mixed reaction, he said: Then we will take a call.
